The hamlet of Eastacott near Umberleigh in North Devon nestles on the south slope of the Taw valley. Eastacott Barton facing due south at the lower edge of the hamlet, has magnificent uninterrupted views over it's own land to the bottom of the valley and across the river Taw.
Umberleigh has all the usual village amenities including a junior school, the well known fisherman's Inn "The Rising Sun" and a railway station [halt] serviced by the Tarka country railway that meanders along the picturesque Taw valley from Exeter - Barnstaple [several trains a day]. The village is approximately 8 miles from the North Devon link road, providing speedy access to Junction 27 of the M5 motorway.

Although totally peaceful and secluded, Eastacott is just a 5 minute drive from Umberleigh where besides the well known fishing pub "The Rising Sun" near the banks of the River Taw, the delightful Tarka railway line winds its way either down the Taw valley to Barnstaple or up to Exeter. The North Devon coast and beaches are nearby as are some lovely National Trust properties. There are also several Devon gardens in the area including the Royal Horticultural garden at Rosemoor and also Torrington, the home of Dartington Crystal.
